Sloop John B
Originally called “The John B. Sails,” “Sloop John B” is a traditional folk song from the Bahamas about an unpleasant boat trip. “The Wreck of the John B” and “I Wanna Go Home” have been used as titles to the song as well. Richard Le Gallienne transcribed and published it in 1916. Carl Sandburg included it in The American Songbag as “The John B Sails” in 1927.
