Rondeau is a Baroque-era composition by French composer Jean‑Joseph Mouret, written around 1729 as the opening movement of his Suite of Fanfares (First Suite in D). It became widely known centuries later as the theme music for the PBS program Masterpiece Theatre. Today the piece remains popular at weddings and concerts for its stately, uplifting melody.
