Recuerdos de la Alhambra
“Recuerdos de la Alhambra” is a classical guitar piece composed in 1896 by Spanish guitarist Francisco Tárrega.
The title of the piece translates in English as “Memories of the Alhambra.” Tárrega composed the piece after visiting the Alhambra, a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain.
The tremolo technique, required to perform the song, is used through the whole piece from beginning to end. The thumb plays the bass and/or harmony notes followed by the ring finger, middle, and index playing the melody on the top three strings.
