Clair de Lune

“Clair de Lune” was composed by Claude Debussy. It is the third movement of Suite bergamasque, composed by Claude Debussy. The french words, Clair de lune, translate to moonlight.

Debussy began composing the suite in 1890 and finished it in 1905 after accepting an offer from a publisher. At 43 in 1905, he wasn’t convinced that this piece from 1890 was mature enough. After a little persuasion, he made significant changes to the earlier version of the piece, and “Clair de Lune” was brought to life.
