Ain’t Misbehavin’

“Ain’t Misbehavin'” is a beloved jazz standard written in 1929 by Fats Waller, Harry Brooks, and Andy Razaf for the Harlem revue Hot Chocolates. Premiering at Connie’s Inn, the song quickly became a hit, blending Waller’s energetic piano playing with Razaf’s witty lyrics about resisting temptation while staying true.

Popularized by Fats Waller himself and Louis Armstrong, among others, it has endured for nearly a century. The tune has been covered by countless artists, appeared in films and Broadway productions, and remains a staple in jazz repertoires worldwide — a true timeless classic.
